Position Title: Customer Service Mechanic
Location: St. Charles, MO
Primary Responsibilities: The Customer Service Mechanic will provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, and support services for custom trailers, displays, and other marketing vehicles. This role demands hands-on expertise in various technical systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, as well as the ability to offer remote troubleshooting support to customers. This position must adhere to high safety standards and occasionally work a flexible schedule including occasional overnight travel to meet customer needs.
- Independently provide maintenance services for customized vehicles including preventative and predictive measures to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and repair failures in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and driveline components using technical documentation.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, mechanical schematics, and engineering documents.
- Use these documents to diagnose issues and implement solutions effectively.
- Provide remote troubleshooting assistance to customers via phone calls, addressing issues with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and driveline systems in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform more complex tasks, including custom modifications and adjustments, as required.
- Identify, troubleshoot and document defects, make necessary adjustments or repairs, as needed.
- Work efficiently to minimize waste and optimize production timelines.
- Works under minimal supervision to troubleshoot and repair systems efficiently to meet project and customer specifications, quality, and established project timelines.
- Follows verbal instruction and completes assigned tasks given by Team Leads and/or other departmental Supervision.
- Continuous learning on-the-job training and/or other programs designed to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Follows safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Documents work performed and parts used for accurate record-keeping.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 4 - 8 years' experience in Welding, Carpentry, Construction, HVAC, Mechanical Trade, and/or Electrical field or similar experience.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, low and high voltage electrical systems (AC/DC), structural repairs, and suspension systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents such electrical drawings and mechanical schematics.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail/precision.
- Must display initiative to learn and to take on more responsibilities.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
- Must possess the following skill sets:

- Must be willing to work overtime when needed to maintain project deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Preferred Requirements:
- Must meet one of the criteria below or have successfully completed a similar Certification program
- Associates degree in Welding, Carpentry, Building Trades, HVAC, Mechanical Trade and/or Electrical
- 2 years Vocational High School Electrical program
- 5+ years' experience in Welding, Carpentry, Construction, HVAC, Maintenance, and/or Electrical.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in manufacturing or custom fabrication.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to stand up to 8+ hours per day.
- Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals, distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection during specific tasks.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close and/or color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection.
- Physically able to use Respiratory protection, as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required for on-site assistance/repair. (up to 15%)
