Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Drafter/Designer

Location: St. Charles, MO

Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting other design staff with design and fabrication details on given projects with responsibility for the sole design of smaller projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create detailed fabrication drawings using Solidworks parts and assemblies.
• Create Solidworks drawings for a broad set of fabrication & assembly methods.
• Create component level models which are incorporated into larger designs.
• Source and quote products for the project to assist the engineer.
• Interface with the purchasing department and provide materials per the project schedule.
• Projects may include steel structures, aluminum structures, hydraulics, electrical and controls, etc.

Required Skills:

• Microsoft Office, 3D solid modeling, Solidworks , basic Autocad knowledge.
• Mechanical applications, machine design, hydraulics design, machinery technician, mechanical assembly, welding and weldment design, mechanical contractor, electrical contractor, maintenance technician.
• Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience.
• Knowledge of fabrication drawing practices for sheet metal, welded, and machined parts essential.

Preferred Skills:

• Associate degree in drafting, engineering technologies or related field. Will consider non-degreed candidates.
• Experience in a job shop fabrication environment.
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Required to stand, walk, use hands.
