Position Title: Electrical Designer
Location: St. Charles, MO
Position Summary: Under the guidance of an Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Designer will be responsible for supporting the Electrical Engineering Team with electrical system designs, and subsequent support of the installation / integration of these systems in a wide range of custom mobile solutions including trailers, truck bodies, and shelters/containers. This position will also interface with other engineering resources and the functional areas of production and purchasing/materials.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain continuous communication within the Engineering Department to ensure alignment of goals and objectives, and project issues.
- Maintain continuous communication and provide technical direction with(to) shop floor to maintain constant alignment with manufacturing.
- Develop electrical takeoffs and provide electrical estimation
- Create electrical block diagrams, schematics and drawings based on input requirements and direction of the Master Electrician.
- Utilize specifications, reference data, to identify suppliers of COTS and GOTS hardware.
- Support Customer meetings, conference calls, and site visits, as
- Work effectively in a project team
- Other duties, as
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or
- 4+ years shop manufacturing and/or construction
- 2+ years electrical power, lighting and/or low voltage design and drafting
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or
- Proficiency in MSOffice
- Ability to independently troubleshoot issues, while recognizing when to escalate
- Ability to remain organized with very strong attention to detail and
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs and
- A collaborative and team-oriented
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new tools and
- Must demonstrate a consistent and stable work history, along with strong verbal and written communication
Preferred Skills:
- Associate's degree in drafting and design or electrical technology or electrical
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and Classroom training and certificate or experience as an Electrician.
- BIM using Autodesk Revit for industrial and commercial buildings
- Electrical estimating software
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of
- Required to stand, walk, and use
- Must be able to position self to move, bend, and lift up to 37
- Ascend/descend on ladders and move around /within custom mobile
