Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Industrial Designer

Location: St. Charles, MO

Position Summary:

The Creative Designer works directly with customers and project team members on workable solutions on drawings and renderings. Sales drawings range from 2D layouts to multi-view photorealistic renderings and animations. Production projects range from 2-20 weeks in duration and $5,000 to $2,000,000 of sales revenue.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interface with customers to brainstorm creative and innovative solutions.
• Guide customers to workable solutions for manufacturability.
• Create drawings, renderings, animations and fly-through in support of the Sales department.
• Establish standard sales design and practices.
• Explore and stay current on rendering approaches, trends, and methods.
• Assist the Engineering department, as needed, on production designs and drawings.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma and 3 years of industrial design related experience.
• Proficient in Sketch UP and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills when working with internal coworkers and clients.
• Must understand basic concepts and procedures in an Engineering discipline.
• Ability to think critically and creatively while working independently and cooperatively.
• Manage time wisely and self-prioritize to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.
• Effectively communicate and interact with technical staff at all levels in a team-based environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Associate's degree or higher in Industrial Design or related design degree with 1 year of industrial design related experience.
• Experience with Fusion 360 and/or Rhino modeling software.
• Experience with V-Ray or other rendering software.

Physical Skills:

Required use of fingers and hands to operate a computer.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to remain in a stationary sitting position and move about the office.

Ability to climb stairs/ladder and be able to navigate in a shop environment and in a safe manner.
