Position Title: Lead Fabricator / Mechanic


Schedule: 2nd Shift: 2pm – Midnight (4-Days/10-Hour Shift)

Location: St. Charles, MO


Position Summary: Lead, train and utilize mechanical skills necessary to manufacture and build a variety of products and vehicles to meet customer specifications, safety and quality standards, and established project completion dates.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work under moderate supervision to meet project specifications, safety/quality standards, and within project timelines with ability and discretion to deviate from standard procedure, if needed.
  • Work from verbal and written instruction (i.e., Drawings, MO's, etc.).
  • Trouble shoot and solve non-routine problems.
  • Work, lead, communicate, show interpretations of work, and teach lower skilled employees.
  • Use, teach, and maintain equipment and tools for job duties (i.e. welders, shear/ paint guns and pressure pot/ fork lifts, etc.)

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 + years of work-related experience in a mechanical trade.

  • Ability to pass Craftsmen internal testing to show designated ability in your field.

  • Maintain a positive attitude towards customers and team members.

  • Take pride in work to deliver finished products according to customer specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with a safety mindset.

  • Ability to work successfully within a team and as an individual contributor.

  • Must effectively communicate and present interpretations of work.

  • Use and maintain equipment/tools specific to the position.

  • Must possess or add to skill sets as follows:

  • Willing to offer solutions and ideas to supervisors, engineers, and team members.

  • Willing to take on more responsibilities, work, willingness to instruct new employees.

  • Showing initiative to take classes their respective fields or show interest in taking management type seminars.

Preferred Skills:

  • Trade school Certification
  • Class A license.
  • Experienced with welding, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, and/or carpentry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to use Respiratory protection, as needed.
  • Must be able to remain in a standing position for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladder and climb in/out of trailers as well as work atop scaffolding.
  • Physically able to move and transport up to 75 lbs.
  • Some travel may be required for on-site assistance/repair.
