Position Title: Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety

Location: St. Charles, MO

The Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) is responsible for the overall EHS management system for our facilities in St. Charles, MO and Highland, IL. This role will execute the EHS strategy, plans and administration to ensure that we protect our associates, our customers, and the environment. This position will lead the implementation of processes, systems, and programs to ensure compliance and lead continuous improvement projects that will steadily improve EHS performance at our sites. Additionally, this role is accountable for directing and maintaining an environmentally healthy, safe, and productive workplace through the education and training of employees at all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages, directs, coordinates, monitors, and drives the implementation of EHS systems and standards for facilities in St. Charles, MO and Highland, IL ensuring consistent compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Serves as a professional resource on EHS issues by working with, coaching, and mentoring the operations, engineering and project management staff.

Leads and manages EHS committee promoting values-based safety culture.

Manages all applicable environmental programs (air, water, waste, etc.) and permits.

Directs and implements corporate EHS standards for such programs as lockout, mobile equipment, electrical fall prevention, etc...

Manages the accident and injury prevention program and develops action plans to eliminate risks.

Leads the development and conducts EHS training plan to advance the safety and wellness of our valued associates.

Lead, coach, and mentor management and staff with incident investigations root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Actively coaches and supports operations supervision and leadership in executing their EHS roles and responsibilities.

Initiate and drive risk mitigation, corrective actions & preventative actions to closure to prevent illness or injury.

Perform routine inspections of the locations for hazardous conditions, also including monthly fire suppression and industrial hygiene equipment inspections.

Direct and interact with the Facilities & Maintenance team, external EHS consultants and service providers, when needed.

Ensure an active and effective safety program by completing monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics reporting. This includes developing a system to trend behavioral safety data, recordable, significant near misses, and significant first aid incidents.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in an EHS discipline in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient knowledge, experience, and compliance with local, state and government EHS related requirements. Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.

Must have OSHA or similar EHS certifications and/or credentials.

Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to people both inside and outside of the organization

Advanced managerial maturity and servant leadership skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to function well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive and at times demanding environment.

Self-motivated with high energy to complete self-directed work.

Ability to plan, lead and manage projects as assigned.

Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Ability to influence, persuade, motivate, and inspire without direct authority.

Preferred Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in EHS or a closely related field.

Physical Skills:

Must be able to position self to move, bend, lift up to 75 lbs.

Ascends/descends on ladders and move around/within trailers.

Required use of fingers and hands to operate a computer.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
