Craftsmen Industries custom manufactures unique specialty trailers and vehicles and large format printed elements for experiential marketing and industrial solutions for brands across the industry spectrum including Boeing, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch. Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Mechanic

Location: Highland, IL

Position Summary: Utilize skills necessary to manufacture, build and repair a variety of products and vehicles to meet product specifications, quality standards and established deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Under direct supervision, work from written and verbal instruction (i.e. Drawings, MO's, & Supervisors).
• Work collaboratively in a team.
• Use and maintain equipment and tools for the specific job duties (welders, shear, paint guns and pressure pots, forklifts, etc.).
• Assist with inventory control.

Required Skills:

High School Diploma and 1-2 years work-related experience.

Ability to pass Craftsmen Industries internal testing to show designated ability in your field (i.e., either with actual testing ( Welding/ Painting) or at Sr. Lead acceptance.

Must possess or add to skill sets as follows:

• Ability to solve routine problems in nature within their respected field.
• Willing to offer solutions and ideas to supervisors and team members.
• Willing to take on more work, willingness to learn new skills, and/or schooling.

Preferred Education

Certificate in Industrial related field. (i.e. Welding, Commercial Painting, Industrial Maintenance).

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to use Respiratory protection.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary standing position for up to 8 hours a day.
• . Ability to ascend/descend ladder and climb in and out of trailers as well as work atop scaffolding.
• Physically able to move and transport up to 75 lbs.
• Some travel may be required for on-site assistance/repair.
