Craftsmen Industries custom manufactures unique specialty trailers and vehicles and large format printed elements for experiential marketing and industrial solutions for brands across the industry spectrum including Boeing, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch. We pride ourselves on creating our products fully in-house from initial design and engineering to fabrication and the finishing touches of graphics and paint.


Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Mechanic

Location: St. Charles, MO


Position Overview:

Utilize skills necessary to manufacture, build and repair a variety of products and vehicles to meet product specifications, quality standards and established deadlines.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform job duties under moderate supervision with the ability and discretion to deviate from standard procedure, if needed.
  • Work from verbal and written instruction (i.e. Drawing, MO's etc.).
  • Trouble shoot and solve non-routine problems within respected field.
  • On occasion, lead a team using clear communication to complete tasks as well as show understanding of work to be performed to lower skilled employees.
  • Use, teach, and maintain equipment and tools for their specific job duties (i.e. welders, shear/ paint guns and pressure pot/ fork lifts, etc.).


Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-4 years' experience.
  • Ability to pass Craftsmen Industries internal testing to show designated ability in your field (i.e., either with actual testing ( Welding/ Painting) or at Sr. Lead acceptance.
  • Must possess or add to skill sets as follows:
    • Willing to offer solutions and ideas to supervisors, engineers, and team members.
    • Willing to take on more responsibilities, work, willingness to instruct new employees.
    • Willing to take on more work, willingness to learn new skills, and/or schooling.


Preferred Education

  • Certificate in Industrial related field. (i.e. Welding, Commercial Painting, Industrial Maintenance)


Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to use Respiratory protection as needed.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary standing position for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladder and climb in and out of trailers as well as work atop scaffolding.
  • Physically able to move and transport up to 75 lbs.
  • Some travel may be required for on-site assistance/repair.
