Craftsmen Industries custom manufactures unique specialty trailers and vehicles and large format printed elements for experiential marketing and industrial solutions for brands across the industry spectrum including Boeing, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch. We pride ourselves on creating our products fully in-house from initial design and engineering to fabrication and the finishing touches of graphics and paint.

Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Painter

Location: Highland, IL

Position Summary: We are seeking a candidate with painting experience in an automotive, fabrication or industrial environment. Painter will prepare aluminum cabinets and steel for painting, spray primer, and paint. Transport and set up product in drying area. Apply trim tape on scoreboards, signs, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Mix paints/coatings per specifications
• Prepare surfaces for painting
• Applies primer and finishing coats
• Vinyl trim application
• Perform cleaning/preventative maintenance
• Must comply with all safety rules and procedures
• Maintain and complete all required records
• Perform touch-up as needed
• Data entry, attending in and out of work orders

Required Skills:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Basic computer data entry skills
• Attention to detail
• Forklift experience
• The ability to build bridges and alliances within the company to successfully facilitate and accomplish requirements of the position
