Position Title: Parts Driver / Material Handler

Location: St. Charles, MO

Schedule: 1st Shift

Position Summary:

The Parts Driver / Material Handler plays a critical role in the efficient movement of materials, parts, and equipment both within the facility and between external vendors, suppliers, and job sites. This position ensures timely delivery and receipt of materials, supports production schedules, and contributes to overall inventory accuracy and workplace organization. This position requires strong communication among purchasing, warehouse, and production teams. Additionally, this role requires attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining the flow of materials and supplies essential to daily operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and deliver parts or materials to and from vendors, suppliers, and job sites.
  • Transport materials within the facility, including moving raw materials to production areas and finished goods to parts room, shipping or storage.
  • Conduct daily inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure roadworthiness, safety compliance, and proper maintenance; report any issues promptly to the supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Load and unload trucks, verifying quantities and checking for damage or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and receiving records, including logs and shipping paperwork.
  • Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and restocking materials, as needed.
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles.
  • Demonstrate safe driving practices, follow company safety protocols and traffic laws while driving.
  • Sweep floors, empty trash cans, and dump metal scrap bins as part of daily housekeeping and shop maintenance duties.
  • Assist Shipping and Receiving and other areas, as needed.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Must have a Class E license (also referred to as a Chauffer's license) and clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
  • Minimum of 1 year of forklift and material handling experience.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use basic math skills.
  • Ability to multitask in job duties with strong time management skills.
  • Highly Motivated and strong work ethic.
  • Basic computer data entry skills.
  • Must demonstrate a consistent and stable work history, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to stand up to 8+ hours per day.
  • Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals, distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection during specific tasks.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to ascend/descend on steps and ladders.
  • Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.
  • Required use of fingers and hands to operate a computer.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close and/or color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
