Parts Room Attendant

Craftsmen Industries custom manufactures unique specialty trailers and vehicles and large format printed elements for experiential marketing and industrial solutions for brands across the industry spectrum including Boeing, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch. Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Parts Room Attendant

Location: St. Charles, MO

Position Summary: Manage stock room inventory and provide support to internal customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Charge parts to the correct job at time of use or daily.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Re-order stock items, such as truck/trailer parts, to maintain adequate levels.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and other departments to ensure the right items are stocked at the right quantities.
• Stock shelves as shipments are received.
• Assist shop employees in locating correct parts in the stockroom.
• Order samples of alternate parts for analysis as needed.
• Tracks shipments to ensure parts arrive on time.
• Issues and tracks shop tools to employees.
• Coordinates returns of defective products.

Required Skills

• 1-3 years Purchasing and/or Inventory transaction experience in a manufacturing environment or retail trailer/automotive service role.
• In-depth knowledge of Cycle Counts and Physical Inventory processing.
• Provide excellent Customer Service to internal and external customers.
• Strong ability to multi-task and problem solves in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Prior service desk experience.
• Experience with Great Plains.
• Ability to drive a forklift
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing (5S, Lean Six Sigma, shadow boards)
• Ability to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

• Physical ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
• Must be able to work with limited supervision and in a team environment
