Craftsmen Industries custom manufactures unique specialty trailers and vehicles and large format printed elements for experiential marketing and industrial solutions for brands across the industry spectrum including Boeing, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch. We pride ourselves on creating our products fully in-house from initial design and engineering to fabrication and the finishing touches of graphics and paint.

Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Quality Technical Supervisor
Location: St. Charles, MO

Position Summary: Quality Technical Supervisor will oversee the organization's manufacturing and engineering processes by ensuring the proper use of tools, materials and procedures and work with the Quality and Customer Care team to create and maintain standards for manufactured products.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy quality standards.
  • Inspect materials, equipment, processes, and products.
  • Develop quality control systems and determine corrective actions.
  • Work with department leadership and production staff to implement quality measures to ensure Standard Operating Procedures are in place and training mechanisms are effective.
  • Teach, coach, and instruct personnel across various departments.
  • Communicate problems and other important issues to other departments (Production/Engineering/Project Management/Quality), as applicable.
  • Be available and responsive outside of normal working hours to distribute customer and colleague communications as necessary.


Required Skills:

  • High School or Trade School Graduate and a minimum of 2- 5 years of work or supervisory experience within a quality function.
  • Strong attention to detail especially as it relates to quality procedures and practices.
  • Ability to confidently analyze, think critically and problem solve with various production issues as they arise.
  • Advanced communication skills both written and verbal with internal and external customers in a professional, timely and reliable manor.
  • Experience in demonstrating strong ethics, integrity, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in demonstrating mechanical and equipment troubleshooting. Ability and skills to use wide range of mechanical measuring devices, ideally with familiarity in electrical measuring and validation tools.
  • Experience in leading, motivating, and inspiring teams to embrace a quality focus.
  • Strong math skills with the ability to understand and run statistical analysis and technical calculations.
  • Willingness to offer solutions & ideas to upper management that can affect company overall profitability and quality.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust work schedule to meet needs of business, prioritize, reassign work, and change methods of production.
  • Work directly with customers assisting to help resolve issues both onsite and at offsite locations.


Preferred

  • College Degree or credentials in the quality field and function or those with formal certifications in related testing and quality control.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a standing position for multiple hours, up to 8 hours or more a day.
  • Ability to ascend/descend on a ladder, climb in and out of trailers and work atop scaffolding.
  • Physically able to use Respiratory protection as needed.
